Election Reminder
As the November election date approaches, residents may wish to make their political preferences known by putting signs in their windows or front yards. Our community rules on such displays are drawn directly from ARS 33-1808. A quick summary:
- Signs may be displayed from 71 days before the primary election (so we’re already in this window) to 15 days after the general election. Signs supporting candidates who did not advance from the primaries must be removed within 15 days after that election.
- Signs may not be placed in Association common areas.
- Multiple signs are permitted, but the aggregate area for all signs is limited to nine square feet.
In addition, although not specifically addressed in the statute, we would consider signs with grossly offensive or hateful messages to be a nuisance and require their removal. It is your right to speak out for or against the candidates running for office and other issues, but please be respectful when you do. We’ll all still be neighbors after the voting is over.
